Chinquapin Dollar House
General Rules and Guidelines
The Dollar House and adjacent buildings are of historical significance to Chinquapin and the Lake Tahoe area. The Homeowners of Chinquapin and their agents, the Board of Directors of the Chinquapin Homeowners Association (CHOA), are the stewards of these historical buildings. It is the goal of CHOA that the integrity of the buildings stays in tact with functional modernization.
Chinquapin Homeowners have the right to use the Dollar House. The homeowner must be in attendance at any function reserved in
his/her name and assume responsibility for the facility and the conduct of their guests. The following fee structure was instituted in the spring of 2004 to recover costs of the Dollar House usage.
Due to the age of the Dollar House plumbing, it is necessary for the sewage
holding tank to be emptied after every event. The cost of emptying the tank is $500/service, and the capacity is minimal. Over 50 people, the host must rent two (or more) portable toilets. All applicants must arrange off-site parking.
It is understood that users of the Dollar House will respect and care for the historical buildings. THERE SHOULD BE NO USE OF STAPLES, TACKS, MASKING TAPE, GLUE, OR OTHER LIKE ADHESIVE TO THE DOORS, WALLS OR LIGHT FIXTURES. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY RICE, CONFETTI OR BIRD SEED THROWN ON THE PROPERTY. Charges to repair any damage will be billed to the homeowner.
The Dollar House is an extension of your Chinquapin home and should be treated accordingly. Together we will preserve and use the historical part of Chinquapin for another 98
years!
Thank you,
Chinquapin Board of Directors, October 2006
