Chinquapin Board Committees, Chairpersons & Members

The Board of Directors are working on several projects that will be of interest to you. The following committees are in place to assist with the management and upkeep of Chinquapin.

  • [Architectural Review Committee] ARC/Buildings Committee

  • Ballot Committee

    • This committee consists of a Charperson, Tom Reichert, and members Tom Kasten, Robin Kelly, Denise Peters, and Stephen Weideman.
    • The purpose of the Ballot Committee will be to assist the Board in writing the ballot and preparing the pros and cons to each issue.
  • Board Development Committee

    • This committee consists of a Chairperson, Larry Miller
    • The purpose of the Board Development Committee is to bring to the forefront those members that are interested in being a Chinquapin Board Member.
      • For additional information, please call Larry Miller at (702) 255-7389.

  • Deck Construction Committee (DCC)

  • Grounds Control Committee

    • This committee consists of a Chairperson, currently Ralph Coppola (unit #110), and member Shane Gorman (unit #163).
    • The grounds committee is to help keep Chinquapin in its alpine appearance. We will help to improve on it as possible with new planting and good forestry. We are also aware of fire danger, and will plan to maintain that according to best management procedures. We would like to help homeowners improve areas around their individual units as per guidelines listed on the web site. We will of course do all of this within TRPA guidelines.
  • Infrastructure Committee

    • This committee consists of a Chairperson, currently Alan Vidinsky (unit #108), and members Bill Kartozian (unit #27), Rob Reis (unit #169), Ken Doctor, Bob Duffield (staff support), and Dan King as Board Liaison (unit #72).
    • The committee is to evaluate Chinquapin’s infrastructure and provide recommendations to the Board as to additions or changes to the infrastructure. The recommendations should include an initial assessment of the costs associated with each addition or change, and a recommended source of funding. The committee will deal with newly recommended additions or changes, and not with on-going maintenance of the property.
    • The committee will start with the projects relating to Area Lighting and Broadband/TV communications. Also high on the list are changes to the pool bath/sauna area to more effectively use the space, while giving consideration to creating a workout facility. Other projects and ideas will be surfaced by the committee itself, and solicited from the homeowners.
  • Insurance Committee

    • This committee is comprised of Chairperson, Dan King (unit #46) and member Gregory Gendron (unit #75).
    • The purpose of this committee is to oversee all matters involving insurance and CHOA.
  • Recreation Committee

    • This committee consists of a Chairperson, Sandy Vickrey (unit #115) and Homeowner Volunteers as needed.
    • The purpose of the Recreation Committee is to plan events for the benefit of Chinquapin Homeowners and their guests. The committee's major event of the year is the 4th of July Parade, Carnival and Dinner Party.
  • Special Projects

    • Special Projects, these will be directed by the Board President to the Chair of Special Projects. This committee consists of a Chairperson, Dick Maser (unit #72).
    • Currently, there are two projects in progress:
      • Research involving the pros and cons of "historical designation" for the Dollar Estate.
      • Creating a Board Book for the Members of the Board. This book will be an historical reference for Board Members-what happened when. All past Board Members and Presidents and all CHOA sponsored projects will be listed.

For inquiries please contact the appropriate Board Member or Committee Chairperson.
